Simple guide to purchase ARIN IPv4 and transfer them safely
ARIN IP Transfer Requirements & Approval
American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN) is responsible for managing and assigning all of the IP address blocks within North America. Because ARIN ran out of available IPv4, companies now have to buy ARIN IP addresses on the free market. To acquire IP addresses, you will need an ARIN account, pre-approval from ARIN, and knowledge of the IPv4 transfer process in the ARIN region.
With the help from a knowledgeable team, such as ours, the IPv4 transfer process can be seamless and even pleasant. By reading this helpful guide, you will notice why leading brands choose to work with IPv4 Connect for their ARIN IP address needs.
1. Create an ARIN Online Account (1-2 Weeks)
To acquire, manage or buy ARIN IP addresses, you first need to register for an ARIN online account. ARIN has a 3-step process to create an account and add users to it.
Register an Online Account
Having an ARIN account will allow you to manage different organizations, point of contact (POC) records, ASNs, and ARIN IP addresses. Registration is simple, see ARIN online account
Create a point of contact (POC)
Your personal point of contact record will link to you direclty and will allow management of IP address resources and different organizations
Create an Organization Identified (Org-ID)
The Org-ID will be tied to your company. This will link directly to your ASN, ARIN IP addresses and POC records.. ARIN may require certificate of good standing in some cases to approve an Org-ID
2: Buyer ARIN Pre-Approval (1 - 2 Weeks)
ARIN will require you build a business case demonstrating why you want to purchase ARIN IP address space. They have a 48 hour SLA to respond to any request, so we recommend you submit the correct information from the start to avoid delays.
Once ARIN has accepted your business case, they will require an officer of the company sign an officer attestation confirming the projections and information you provided was true to the best of your knowledge.
We have provided 3 different approaches that will get you approved
1
Future IP Address Projections
Provide business case demonstrating usage of at least 50% the requested ARIN IP addresses in 2 years.
ARIN will request quarterly projections with actual numbers and the services the IPs will be used for
2
Current IP Address Utilization
Alternatively, you can demonstrate 75% utilization of the sum of all current ARIN IP address blocks.
ARIN will require a spreadsheet detailing the services the IP's are used for and the total number of IP's used
3
Moving From Carrier Space
In some cases, you can't justify based on future use or current utilization. In these cases, perhaps you need different /24s for security reasons or to run BGP.
Let ARIN know your use case and they should approve
Request Pre-Approval Tips
3: ARIN IP Address Review (1-5 Days)
After you have received ARIN pre-approval, its time review an ARIN IP address block, verify a blacklist report and review & sign the purchase agreement. We offer a detailed blacklist report that ensures the IP addresses are 100% from any IP blacklists before you purchase them
We will need this information to send an IPv4 purchase agreement

IPv4 Buyer Testimonials
"Brander Group was the only firm we spoke with that was able to take our need for IPv4 subnets and quickly match us with a seller that could meet them. They've now done so multiple times and I wouldn't hesitate to call on them again."
Vice President of Network Services at RCN Telecom Services
"We recently had an urgent need to buy a /19 and our current vendors rates were not aligned with our budget. I reached out to Jake at the Brander Group and they were able to get me a clean /19 at the price I was looking for. Communication throughout the whole process was timely and consistent. In the future, I plan to give the Brander Group the first shot at any new IPv4 subnet requirements I might have."
Vice President of Engineering at Summit Broadband
"We really enjoyed working with the Brander Group in buying a /19 IPv4 address block. They were responsive to our questions and provided continuous updates throughout the ARIN pre-approval and IPv4 transfer process. Because of their help, we're able to provide business internet and IPv4 subnets to new customers as well as meet the growth needs of existing customers."
Director of Operations at Dakota Carrier Networks
"The team at Brander Group was attentive and helpful with guiding us through the IPv4 subnet purchase of our /23 block. I highly recommend Brander Group."
Senior Network Administrator at Home Hardware Stores Limited
"After our first experience to purchase IPv4 address space with a company that would lead us into over a four month battle of empty promises and no movement of an IPv4 address subnet. We were referred to Brander Group Inc. by our trusted consultant, to take over and complete the transfer. They instantly had a seller ready for us to purchase a block of Ipv4 addresses. Their professionalism and support through the entire process was second to none. The entire process to just over 2 weeks to complete. I would highly recommend Brander Group Inc. to anyone interested in purchasing Ipv4 addresses."
Plant Manager at Hawkeye Telephone
"We wanted to thank Brander Group for all of your help and guidance – you made this whole process of purchasing IPv4 so much easier! We would highly recommend them to anyone looking to purchase IPv4 subnets."
